{"id":16401,"date":"2010-04-23T08:08:49","date_gmt":"2010-04-23T14:08:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/?p=16401"},"modified":"2010-04-23T13:34:25","modified_gmt":"2010-04-23T19:34:25","slug":"another-poll-shows-that-teaguepearce-race-is-close","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/04\/another-poll-shows-that-teaguepearce-race-is-close\/","title":{"rendered":"Another poll shows that Teague\/Pearce race is close"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_5685\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignright\" style=\"max-width: 120px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5685\" title=\"Teague, Harry\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/Teague-Harry1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"120\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Harry Teague<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Like past polls, a new survey released by U.S. Rep. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.harryforcongress.com\/\">Harry Teague\u2019s<\/a> campaign confirms what we already knew \u2013 the race between the Democratic incumbent and his Republican challenger, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.peopleforpearce.com\/\">Steve Pearce<\/a>, is close.<\/p>\n<p>The internal Teague poll has him leading 47 percent to 46 percent, <a href=\"http:\/\/newmexicoindependent.com\/52407\/internal-polls-show-teague-pearce-close\">The New Mexico Independent<\/a> is reporting.<\/p>\n<p>The poll, conducted by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hamiltoncampaigns.com\/\">Hamilton Campaigns<\/a>, surveyed 500 likely voters and had a margin of error of 4.4 percentage points, the Independent reported. The Independent didn\u2019t say when the poll was conducted, but Teague\u2019s finance report indicates it was done sometime in the first three months of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Two other polls have shown Pearce with a narrow lead.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/02\/polls-show-pearce-heinrich-lujan-ahead\/\">only independent poll<\/a> of the race, conducted in February by the Democratic firm\u00a0Public Policy Polling, had Pearce leading 43-41 percent. Also in February, a poll <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/02\/poll-commissioned-by-pearce-has-him-ahead\/\">released by the Pearce campaign<\/a> showed him leading 48-44 percent.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update, 1:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Teague campaign released the full polling memo.
