{"id":16112,"date":"2010-04-17T09:44:40","date_gmt":"2010-04-17T15:44:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/?p=16112"},"modified":"2010-04-17T09:45:35","modified_gmt":"2010-04-17T15:45:35","slug":"moore-not-a-finalist-for-arizona-job","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/04\/moore-not-a-finalist-for-arizona-job\/","title":{"rendered":"Moore not a finalist for Arizona job"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_14081\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignright\" style=\"max-width: 120px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-14081\" title=\"Moore, Terrence\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/Moore-Terrence.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"120\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Terrence Moore<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Las Cruces City Manager <a href=\"http:\/\/las-cruces.org\/manager\/\">Terrence Moore<\/a> wasn\u2019t selected as one of four finalists for the job of city manager in Scottsdale, Ariz.<\/p>\n<p>Moore wrote in an <a href=\"http:\/\/extras.mnginteractive.com\/live\/media\/site557\/2010\/0402\/20100402_045926_MooreLetter.pdf\">April 2 letter<\/a> to Las Cruces Mayor <a href=\"http:\/\/las-cruces.org\/council\/mayor.shtm\">Ken Miyagishima<\/a> that he \u201cdid not initiate first contact\u201d but was one of eight people being recruited for the job.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough I am both flattered and honored to be considered for this opportunity, I remain firmly committed to the City of Las Cruces and our community,\u201d Moore wrote in that letter, which was published by the Las Cruces Sun-News alongside an April 3 article that\u2019s no longer available online.<\/p>\n<p>On April 9, a search committee narrowed the list of candidates for the Scottsdale job to four, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.azcentral.com\/community\/scottsdale\/articles\/2010\/04\/09\/20100409scottsdale-city-manager-finalists.html\">Arizona Republic<\/a> reported. Those finalists will be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scottsdaleaz.gov\/News\/04-12-2010-news.asp\">interviewed April 30<\/a>. Moore is not among them.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a Do\u00f1a Ana County Sheriff\u2019s Department probe involving Moore <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/03\/probe-involving-city-manager-isn%E2%80%99t-finished-da-says\/\">is still ongoing<\/a>. The department has been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/03\/sheriff-takes-over-case-involving-las-cruces-city-manager\/\">investigating two incidents<\/a> involving Moore and his ex-wife \u2013 one surrounding injuries Moore\u2019s then-wife suffered in late 2008 and the other involving a police report the city manager filed over a prescription-drug incident in January 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Moore has been under scrutiny lately for two other issues:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Earlier this year he reimbursed the city for some costs associated with\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/01\/cruces-manager-reimburses-city-for-travel-costs\/\">two business trips<\/a> he took last year \u2013 after a complaint was filed over one trip and an attorney requested documentation about the other.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 He also had his administrative assistant\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/01\/las-cruces-manager-had-city-staffer-babysit-kids\/\">babysit his children<\/a> on Dec. 21 \u2013 while she was on the clock and being paid with public money \u2013 so he could attend a city council meeting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Las Cruces City Manager Terrence Moore wasn\u2019t selected as one of four finalists for the job of city manager in Scottsdale, Ariz.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[11,1],"tags":[145],"class_list":["post-16112","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news-and-analysis","category-uncategorized","tag-las-cruces"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/16112","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=16112"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/16112\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=16112"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=16112"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=16112"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
