Ben Ray Luj\u00e1n<\/p><\/div>\n

U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Luj\u00e1n<\/a> raised $150,297.30 for his re-election campaign in the first three months of the year, while one of two Republicans vying for the right to take him on in November ended the fundraising quarter almost out of cash.<\/p>\n

Luj\u00e1n raised $86,136.41 from individuals, $64,150 from political action committees and $10.89 from a political party committee, according to the report<\/a> he filed today with the Federal Election Commission.<\/p>\n

From January to March, his campaign spent $61.554.04. The campaign ended the reporting period with $375,035.70 on hand.<\/p>\n

To date, Luj\u00e1n has raised $703,370.47 for his re-election campaign.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Republican Adam Kokesh<\/a> \u2013 one of two Republicans running for Luj\u00e1n\u2019s seat in the June primary \u2013 raised $57,195.63 during the first quarter of 2010, according to his report<\/a>. Kokesh spent $50,068.14 and ended the reporting period with $12,003.46 on hand.<\/p>\n

To date, Kokesh has raised $199,507.35 for his campaign.<\/p>\n

The other Republican in the race, Tom Mullins<\/a>, hasn\u2019t yet filed his report with the FEC. In the fourth quarter of 2008 he raised $45,274.38 and spent $14,300.64. He ended the reporting period with $30,973.74 on hand.<\/p>\n

Luj\u00e1n and Kokesh both increased their fundraising in the first three months of 2010 from the last three months of 2009. From October to December, Luj\u00e1n raised $112,073.84, while Kokesh raised $38,303.84.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
