Jon Barela<\/p><\/div>\n

Republican 1st Congressional District candidate Jon Barela<\/a> raised $232,188.05 in the first three months of the year, making it his best fundraising quarter to date.<\/p>\n

Barela raised $203,688.05 from individuals, $23,500 from political actions committees and $5,000 from a political party committee, according to the report<\/a> he filed today with the Federal Election Commission.<\/p>\n

From January to March, Barela\u2019s campaign spent $55,014.57. The campaign ended the reporting period with $392,359.18 on hand.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s far short of the $1,044,742.42 that Democratic U.S. Rep. Martin Heinrich<\/a>, the 1st District\u2019s representative, had on hand at the end of the reporting period. Heinrich\u2019s report, filed earlier today<\/a>, indicated that he raised $300,233.83 during the first quarter of the year and spent $90,122.64.<\/p>\n

But Barela\u2019s fundraising during the last three months is much better than what he did during any quarter in 2009. From October to December, for example, Barela raised $113,070.<\/p>\n

To date, Barela has raised $526,097.82 for his campaign. Heinrich has raised $1,385,121.10.<\/p>\n

The other candidate in the race, the Green Party\u2019s Alan Woodruff<\/a>, has yet to file a report with the FEC.<\/p>\n
