{"id":1590,"date":"2007-04-16T14:29:00","date_gmt":"2007-04-16T20:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2007\/04\/kissling-still-paying-off-2006-campaign-debt\/"},"modified":"2007-04-16T14:29:00","modified_gmt":"2007-04-16T20:29:00","slug":"kissling-still-paying-off-2006-campaign-debt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2007\/04\/kissling-still-paying-off-2006-campaign-debt\/","title":{"rendered":"Kissling still paying off 2006 campaign debt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/RiPdFFy3ETI\/AAAAAAAAB-g\/po87_bfARE8\/s1600-h\/Kissling,+Al.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/RiPdFFy3ETI\/AAAAAAAAB-g\/po87_bfARE8\/s200\/Kissling,+Al.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5054126286364414258\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>While U.S. Rep. <a href=\"http:\/\/pearce.house.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">Steve Pearce<\/a>, R-N.M., has almost $200,000 in the bank for his 2008 re-election campaign, Democratic challenger <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kisslingforcongress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Al Kissling<\/a> still hasn\u2019t paid of debt from his 2006 campaign.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Do\u00f1a Ana County Commissioner <a href=\"http:\/\/www.donaanacounty.org\/commissioners\/district5\" target=\"_blank\">Bill McCamley<\/a>, the other Democrat who has entered the race, didn\u2019t begin raising money until the first week of April and didn\u2019t have to file a report for the first quarter of the year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In a <a href=\"http:\/\/query.nictusa.com\/cgi-bin\/dcdev\/forms\/C00419259\/284606\/\" target=\"_blank\">document filed Sunday<\/a>, Kissling reported raising $1,262.43 during the first three months of 2007. Pearce raised almost ten times that amount during the first quarter. During that same period, Kissling reported expenses of $3,344.97.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/RiPc_Fy3ESI\/AAAAAAAAB-Y\/2CF5eE3CNUI\/s1600-h\/McCamley__Bill.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/RiPc_Fy3ESI\/AAAAAAAAB-Y\/2CF5eE3CNUI\/s200\/McCamley__Bill.JPG\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5054126183285199138\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>At the end of the reporting period, Kissling reported having $1,672.82 on hand, but also has a debt of $8,200. That\u2019s from loans Kissling has made to his campaign.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Kissling held an event in December in an attempt to pay off about $35,000 in debt from his 2006 campaign against Pearce, but apparently hasn\u2019t reached that goal yet. Kissling spent a tenth of what Pearce did last year and lost by 20 points.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">McCamley didn\u2019t want to comment on how much money he has raised this month. His second-quarter numbers will be disclosed, along with those of Pearce and Kissling, in reports that will be filed in mid-July.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While U.S. Rep.
