But the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abqjournal.com\/news\/state\/1404255034newsstate04-14-10.htm\">Albuquerque Journal<\/a> is quoting Public Regulation Commissioner <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmprc.state.nm.us\/commissioner2.htm\">David King<\/a> as saying he spoke with Sloan, and she told him she \u201cintends to stay on at this point.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The state Democratic and Republican parties and Lt. Gov. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ltgovernor.state.nm.us\/\">Diane Denish<\/a> have called for the immediate resignation of Sloan, a Democrat.<\/p>\n<p>Sloan was convicted <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/04\/prc%E2%80%99s-sloan-convicted-of-felony-charges\/\">last week<\/a> of aggravated battery and aggravated burglary for attacking another woman with a rock because she believed the woman was having an affair with her husband.<\/p>\n<p>Under state law, Sloan isn\u2019t required to resign because of her felony conviction, but she can\u2019t seek re-election.
