You can read his obituary from the <a href=\"http:\/\/obits.abqjournal.com\/obits\/show\/205104\">Albuquerque Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Current House Minority Leader <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmlegis.gov\/lcs\/legdetails.aspx?SPONCODE=HTAYT\">Tom Taylor<\/a>, R-Farmington, remembered Hobbs as \u201ca respected colleague and great example to many of us in the Legislature.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough Ted was a passionate Republican, he was always willing to bridge partisan divides to improve the lives of all New Mexicans,\u201d Taylor said. \u201cOn behalf of the entire Republican caucus, I extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>State GOP Chairman Harvey Yates called Hobbs \u201ca great advocate for commonsense principles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis commitment to his constituents and his leadership in the Roundhouse will be long remembered,\u201d Yates said. \u201cOur thoughts and prayers are with the Hobbs family during this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hobbs worked for IBM for 36 years and was a member of the U.S. Army.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at French Lomas Blvd. Chapel, <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?f=q&amp;source=s_q&amp;hl=en&amp;geocode=&amp;q=10500+Lomas+Blvd.+NE,+albuquerque&amp;sll=37.0625,-95.677068&amp;sspn=51.355924,69.609375&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;hq=&amp;hnear=10500+Lomas+Blvd+NE,+Albuquerque,+Bernalillo,+New+Mexico+87123&amp;t=h&amp;z=17\">10500 Lomas Blvd. NE<\/a> in Albuquerque.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ted Hobbs, a Republican from Albuquerque who served as minority leader in the state House, died Sunday.
