He said he would get back to NMPolitics.net.<\/p>\n<p>The PRC conducted the employee surveys last October. Commissioners voted 4-1 last week to uphold their prior decision to redact negative comments about employees and commissioners before releasing the surveys to the public. Only <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmprc.state.nm.us\/commissioner1.htm\">Jason Marks<\/a> voted to reverse that decision and release the comments.<\/p>\n<p>The decision to keep the critical comments from the public has drawn criticism <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/04\/the-right-to-hear-criticism-of-elected-officials\/\">from me<\/a> and others.<\/p>\n<p>Block has said his concern is that he doesn\u2019t want \u201cto hang our employees out to dry.\u201d The New Mexico Foundation for Open Government has said it would not challenge redaction of comments about specific employees. But the foundation says specific comments about commissioners and general comments about employees and commissioners are public under the state\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmag.gov\/pdf\/AGO%20IPRA%20Guide.pdf\">Inspection of Public Records Act<\/a> and should be released.<\/p>\n<p><em>A prior version of this posting incorrectly stated that the New Mexico Foundation for Open Government has said the public records act would allow redaction of the comments about specific employees, when in fact the organization has said only that it won\u2019t challenge the PRC\u2019s refusal to release such comments.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UPDATED: Public Regulation Commissioner Jerome Block Jr. says he doesn\u2019t mind releasing comments made about him by employees who filled out an ethics survey last year.
