Boitano endorses Arnold-Jones in governor\u2019s race"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_15192\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignright\" style=\"max-width: 120px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-15192\" title=\"Boitano, Mark\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/Boitano-Mark.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"120\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mark Boitano<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Republican gubernatorial candidate\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/janiceforgovernor.com\/\">Janice Arnold-Jones<\/a> has picked up another legislative endorsement \u2013 this one from Sen. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmlegis.gov\/lcs\/legdetails.aspx?SPONCODE=SBOIT\">Mark Boitano<\/a>, R-Albuquerque, who has worked with her on bringing webcasting to the Roundhouse.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m supporting Janice because I believe she has the intelligence, passion, vision, courage and values to go toe to toe with the Democrat nominee in November,\u201d Boitano said in a news release from the Arnold-Jones campaign.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJanice has rock-solid, core conservative values which will\u00a0appeal to Republican primary voters,\u201d he said. \u201cBut it\u2019s not enough to believe in something: You must be willing to fight for your values.\u00a0I&#8217;ve personally seen Janice\u00a0relentlessly tackle\u00a0the liberals in committee for\u00a0property tax reform\u00a0and on the House floor for webcasting and greater openness in government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Boitano began pushing more than four years ago for the funding to begin webcasting in the Legislature, but it was only after Arnold-Jones \u2013 herself a state representative \u2013 began her own, rogue webcasting of House committee meetings that the Legislature started its own, official webcasts and approved some other transparency proposals including open conference committees.<\/p>\n<p>Boitano is the third state legislator to endorse Arnold-Jones. The others are Rep.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmlegis.gov\/lcs\/legdetails.aspx?SPONCODE=HMCCO\">Kathy McCoy<\/a>, R-Cedar Crest, and Rep.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmlegis.gov\/lcs\/legdetails.aspx?SPONCODE=HCROO\">Anna Crook<\/a>, R-Clovis and the House GOP caucus chair.<\/p>\n<p>Arnold-Jones\u2019 primary opponent <a href=\"http:\/\/susanamartinez2010.com\/\">Susana Martinez<\/a> has the endorsements of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/susanamartinez2010.com\/2010\/03\/retired-fbi-agent-rep-dennis-kintigh-stands-with-susana-martinez\/\">11 state representatives and senators<\/a>.
