\"\"<\/a>Voting in the spaceport tax election appears to be slow but steady this morning. <\/p>\n

A steady stream of voters trickled in to three polling sites I visited between 7 and 8 a.m. Do\u00f1a<\/st1:placename> Ana<\/st1:placename> County<\/st1:placename><\/st1:place> spokesman Jess Williams said all polling places opened on time. There were a few minor problems \u2013 a few workers didn\u2019t show up and a few machines had glitches \u2013 but none of it affected the opening of polling sites or their operation.<\/p>\n

I found several spots around Las Cru<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>ces<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> where tax supporters were campaigning. I drove all around Las Cruces<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> and didn\u2019t find any opponents campaigning. The opponents with whom I spoke didn\u2019t know of organized campaigning. A few south-valley activists who oppose the tax will be driving voters to the polls.<\/p>\n
