It will be the first attempt since its Sept. 25 launch went awry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Officials blamed the problem on a design flaw in the tail fin, and have spent months correcting it. Meanwhile, the new launch has been delayed several times.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">But officials are now confident that April 28 is the day. Aboard the rocket will be the ashes of Star Trek actor <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/James_Doohan\" target=\"_blank\">James \u201cScotty\u201d Doohan<\/a> and Mercury 7 astronaut <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gordon_Cooper\" target=\"_blank\">Gordon Cooper<\/a>, the Sun-News reported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The facilities for UP Aerospace launches have already been built, so the launch isn\u2019t dependent on Tuesday\u2019s election in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Do\u00f1a<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">Ana<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">County<\/st1:placename><\/st1:place> on whether to raise the gross receipts tax to help fund the spaceport.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Click <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2006\/09\/video-of-up-aerospace-launch.html\">here<\/a> to watch video of last year\u2019s launch.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UP Aerospace will make its second attempt to reach space from the Southern New Mexico desert on April 28, officials say.
