Salazar\u2019s resignation letter today along with a point-by-point response to the allegations made in it.<\/p>\n<p>There isn\u2019t too much new in the response, but you can read it <a href=\"http:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/Documents\/SOSResponseToSalazar.doc\">here<\/a>. You can read the redacted copy of Salazar\u2019s letter <a href=\"http:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/Documents\/SalazarResignationLetterRedacted.pdf\">here<\/a>. And the news release that accompanied both is available <a href=\"http:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/Documents\/SOSReleaseOnSalazar.doc\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Rio Grande Sun published <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fileden.com\/files\/2009\/8\/5\/2533950\/secretary%20resignation%20letter.pdf\">an un-redacted copy<\/a> of Salazar\u2019s resignation letter more than a week ago.<\/p>\n<p>Salazar alleged in\u00a0the letter\u00a0that Herrera is violating the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sos.state.nm.us\/PDF\/gca1.pdf\">Governmental Conduct Act<\/a> and elections law.<\/p>\n<p>Among Salazar\u2019s allegations is that Secretary of State <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sos.state.nm.us\/sos-SecBio.html\">Mary Herrera<\/a> ordered exempt employees to collect signatures for her re-election bid at a meeting held during work hours, that she was improperly soliciting donations from contractors doing business with the office to help fund a training, and that she retaliated against him after he tried to stop those potentially illegal actions.<\/p>\n<p>Salazar has turned his allegations over to the attorney general, who is looking into the situation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Secretary of State\u2019s Office released a redacted version of former Elections Director A.J.
