Harry Teague (Photo by Heath Haussamen)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Contrary to what President\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">Barack Obama\u2019s<\/a> group\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.barackobama.com\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">Organizing for America<\/a> claimed earlier today, U.S. Rep. <a href=\"http:\/\/teague.house.gov\/\">Harry Teague<\/a> hasn\u2019t made a decision on whether to support pending health-care reform legislation and has no related announcement planned for Thursday morning, Teague\u2019s spokeswoman says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs you know,\u00a0Congressman Teague has consistently stated that he will make a decision on health care when there is a final proposal on the table,\u201d Teague spokeswoman Sara Schreiber wrote in an e-mail. \u201cSince there is no final language and no CBO score yet, his position hasn&#8217;t changed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She said the claim being made by Organizing for America is \u201cplain wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier today, Organizing for America\u2019s New Mexico director, Ray Sandoval, sent an e-mail to supporters stating that the group had <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/03\/obama-activist-group-says-teague-decision-on-health-care-bill-coming-thursday\">\u201ccredible information\u201d<\/a> that Teague, D-N.M., would make the announcement Thursday morning. House leaders hope to vote on the legislation this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Moments ago, Sandoval sent a follow-up e-mail retracting that claim and blaming the situation on a \u201cmiscommunication.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSorry for the confusion and I will keep you all posted as we move closer to a final vote in the House,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Teague has been\u00a0under immense\u00a0pressure from the left and right as the vote on the health-care reform bill looms.<\/p>\n<p>Schreiber most recently said in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/03\/teague-pressured-from-both-sides-as-health-care-vote-looms\/\">an article published Tuesday<\/a> that Teague, who voted\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2009\/11\/teague%E2%80%99s-vote-against-health-bill-wasn%E2%80%99t-a-surprise\/\">against the House health-care bill<\/a> last year, had not decided how he\u2019ll vote on the Senate version of the bill. Schreiber did say Teague still had \u201cserious concerns\u201d about the legislation.<\/p>\n<p>Schreiber reiterated that position today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCongressman Teague voted no on the House health-care bill and has expressed serious concerns about both the Senate bill and about using reconciliation instead of regular order to move this bill through the Congress,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Contrary to what President Barack Obama\u2019s group Organizing for America claimed earlier today, U.S. Rep.
