{"id":14689,"date":"2010-03-17T14:10:27","date_gmt":"2010-03-17T20:10:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/?p=14689"},"modified":"2010-03-17T14:10:32","modified_gmt":"2010-03-17T20:10:32","slug":"obama-activist-group-says-teague-decision-on-health-care-bill-coming-thursday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/03\/obama-activist-group-says-teague-decision-on-health-care-bill-coming-thursday\/","title":{"rendered":"Obama activist group says Teague decision on health care bill coming Thursday"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_5685\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignright\" style=\"max-width: 120px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5685\" title=\"Teague, Harry\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/Teague-Harry1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"120\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Harry Teague<\/p><\/div>\n<p>U.S. Rep. <a href=\"http:\/\/teague.house.gov\/\">Harry Teague<\/a>, D-N.M., will announce Thursday morning whether he plans to vote for or against the pending health-care reform bill, President\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">Barack Obama\u2019s<\/a> group\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.barackobama.com\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">Organizing for America<\/a> is claiming.<\/p>\n<p>The group\u2019s New Mexico director, Ray Sandoval, wrote in an e-mail to supporters that the group has \u201ccredible information\u201d that Teague will make the announcement Thursday morning. House leaders hope to vote on the legislation this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Teague spokeswoman Sara Schreiber could not immediately be reached for comment on Sandoval\u2019s e-mail.<\/p>\n<p>Teague has been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/03\/teague-pressured-from-both-sides-as-health-care-vote-looms\/\">under immense<\/a> pressure from the left and right as the vote on the health-care reform bill looms.<\/p>\n<p>Schreiber most recently said in an article published Tuesday that Teague, who voted <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2009\/11\/teague%E2%80%99s-vote-against-health-bill-wasn%E2%80%99t-a-surprise\/\">against the House health-care bill<\/a> last year, had not decided how he\u2019ll vote on the Senate version of the bill \u2013 which is what\u2019s currently awaiting House action. Schreiber did say Teague still had \u201cserious concerns\u201d about the legislation.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier today, dozens of Organizing for America volunteers and supporters lobbied for the bill outside Teague\u2019s office in Las Cruces. Members of the <a href=\"http:\/\/lcteaparty.org\/\">Las Cruces TEA Party<\/a> were also in attendance to protest the legislation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>U.S. Rep.
