Following that, she\u2019ll have to prepare for the November election, in which the mayor\u2019s seat, three council positions and one judgeship are up for grabs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cMs. Martinez has performed well as interim city clerk,\u201d <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Moore<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> told the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lcsun-news.com\/ci_5510299\" target=\"_blank\">Las Cruces Sun-News<\/a>. \u201cHer years of experience with the city and extensive knowledge of the city clerk\u2019s office made her a natural choice for the position.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Martinez<\/st1:city><\/st1:place> will be paid a $46,217 annual salary.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">More than 40 candidates applied for the job.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Las Cruces has a new city clerk, and one of her first tasks will be running the municipal election later this year.
