If the House does not, senators have to return by Saturday evening, but could vote to quit working again.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/RgFzTS_zkHI\/AAAAAAAABr0\/PMseMTfgN_0\/s1600-h\/Foley,+Dan.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/RgFzTS_zkHI\/AAAAAAAABr0\/PMseMTfgN_0\/s200\/Foley,+Dan.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5044439832985833586\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>Exactly who will be present for today\u2019s House vote is uncertain. About a dozen House members were absent on Tuesday, including Reps. <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/legdetails.asp?Name=186&#038;Submit=Search\" target=\"_blank\">Joseph Cervantes<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/legdetails.asp?Name=191&amp;Submit=Search\" target=\"_blank\">Mary Helen Garcia<\/a> of Las Cruces, more conservative Democrats who, at times, side with Republicans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">If the attempt fails, Foley said House Republicans will push an agenda that includes its own ethics reform and domestic violence bills and a proposed constitutional amendment related to domestic partner benefits.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Such an amendment would have to be approved by voters, unlike <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>\u2019s proposed statutory change.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cTake it to the voters and see what they want,\u201d Foley said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">On ethics, Foley said House Republicans will propose requiring disclosure of financial and other interests by a wide range of members of the executive branch. Currently, lawmakers have to make such disclosures, but executive-branch members don\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWe think there should be more transparency,\u201d Foley said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>House Republicans will try to end Gov.
