{"id":14322,"date":"2010-03-10T06:25:12","date_gmt":"2010-03-10T13:25:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/?p=14322"},"modified":"2010-03-10T06:25:18","modified_gmt":"2010-03-10T13:25:18","slug":"arnold-jones-wins-quay-county-straw-poll","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/03\/arnold-jones-wins-quay-county-straw-poll\/","title":{"rendered":"Arnold-Jones wins Quay County straw poll"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_7929\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignright\" style=\"max-width: 120px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7929\" title=\"Arnold Jones, Janice\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/Arnold-Jones-Janice.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"120\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Janice Arnold-Jones<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Republican gubernatorial candidate <a href=\"http:\/\/janiceforgovernor.com\/\">Janice Arnold-Jones<\/a> easily won a straw poll taken at Tuesday\u2019s monthly meeting of the Quay County Republican Party.<\/p>\n<p>Arnold-Jones had 30 votes \u2013 or 71 percent \u2013 to six votes for <a href=\"http:\/\/susanamartinez2010.com\/\">Susana Martinez<\/a>, four each for <a href=\"http:\/\/domeniciforgovernor.com\/\">Pete Domenici Jr.<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/turnerforgovernor.com\/\">Doug Turner<\/a> and two for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allenweh2010.com\/\">Allen Weh<\/a>, according to a news release from the Arnold-Jones campaign. The poll was taken, the release states, \u201cfor membership to recommend to their state pre-primary delegates their choice for governor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs I travel the state with our message that is based on conservative values and principles, the response from voters is incredibly positive,\u201d Arnold-Jones said in the release. \u201cI am humbled and gratified by this strong showing of confidence and support by Quay County Republicans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Straw polls aren\u2019t scientific but can be a test of organizational strength.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Martinez <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/02\/martinez-wins-straw-poll-following-clovis-forum\/\">won a straw poll<\/a> following a candidate forum in Clovis.
