{"id":14219,"date":"2010-03-08T12:08:41","date_gmt":"2010-03-08T19:08:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/?p=14219"},"modified":"2010-03-08T15:41:10","modified_gmt":"2010-03-08T22:41:10","slug":"lt-guv-candidate-lists-campaign-contributions-online","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/03\/lt-guv-candidate-lists-campaign-contributions-online\/","title":{"rendered":"Lt. guv hopeful lists campaign contributions online"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_14225\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignright\" style=\"max-width: 270px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-14225 \" title=\"Moore, Brian\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/Moore-Brian.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"270\" height=\"248\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Brian Moore<\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.brianmoorenm.com\/\">Brian Moore<\/a> became today the first candidate for lieutenant governor to join several gubernatorial candidates in releasing campaign finance information more often than state law requires.<\/p>\n<p>Moore, a Republican, posted on <a href=\"https:\/\/peopleformoore.worldsecuresystems.com\/Default.aspx?PageID=4698836&amp;A=WebApp&amp;CCID=9311&amp;Page=1&amp;Items=20\">his Web site<\/a> every campaign contribution he has received to date, and he said in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brianmoorenm.com\/_blog\/Campaign_Blog\/post\/Transparency_in_Government\/\">a blog posting<\/a> on the site that he plans to keep the list current.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter all the uproar lately about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/03\/herrera-should-release-salazar%e2%80%99s-resignation-letter\/\">what\u2019s going on in the Secretary of State\u2019s office<\/a>, I think it\u2019s time we take a stand to end corruption and bring transparency to state and local governments,\u201d the blog posting states. \u201c\u2026 As a Lt. Governor candidate, I felt it was important for me to stand on the side of openness&#8230; so starting today all my campaign contributions will be posted in real time on my website.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The site shows that Moore put $100,000 of his own money into his campaign and has raised an additional $18,420 in contributions, for total fundraising of $118,420.<\/p>\n<p>The trend toward greater campaign-finance transparency than law requires was started in 2007 by Democratic gubernatorial candidate\u00a0<a title=\"Diane Denish\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dianedenish.com\/\">Diane Denish<\/a>. She\u2019s been\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2007\/11\/denish-leads-by-example-on-campaign-disclosure\/\">voluntarily releasing reports quarterly<\/a>, even in off-election years when it\u2019s not required.
