He might be best known in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Do\u00f1a<\/st1:placename>  <st1:placename st=\"on\">Ana<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">County<\/st1:placename><\/st1:place> for his opposition to the <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/_session.asp?w=com&#038;year=07&#038;chamber=S&#038;type=++&#038;number=10\" target=\"_blank\">ban on cockfighting<\/a> sponsored by Sen. <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/legdetails.asp?Name=261&amp;Submit=Search\" target=\"_blank\">Mary Jane Garcia<\/a>, D-Do\u00f1a Ana.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">It\u2019s that time in the session when sickness sets in. Lawmakers move at a frantic pace in the last 2-3 weeks of a 60-day session. Several I\u2019ve spoken with in the last few days have coughs, hoarse throats and the sniffles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">They might probably pull an all-nighter next Friday, too, as they wrap up the session.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p style=\"font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">Update, 2:55 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Despite the report that he was hospitalized, Griego showed up for today\u2019s Senate session. It was Sen. <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/legdetails.asp?Name=232&amp;Submit=Search\" target=\"_blank\">James Taylor<\/a>, D-Albuquerque, who announced on the Senate floor on Tuesday that Griego had been hospitalized.
