The city found ways to make budget cuts without losing services, he said, \u201cand we came out far better on the other side.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we don\u2019t take that opportunity in state government, we\u2019re foolish,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, many Democrats are pushing various tax increases, in addition to budget cuts and drawing down state reserve funds, as a way to help balance the budget.
