{"id":11799,"date":"2010-01-21T16:17:30","date_gmt":"2010-01-21T23:17:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/?p=11799"},"modified":"2010-01-21T16:23:20","modified_gmt":"2010-01-21T23:23:20","slug":"weh-%e2%80%98considering%e2%80%99-voluntarily-releasing-finance-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/01\/weh-%e2%80%98considering%e2%80%99-voluntarily-releasing-finance-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Weh \u2018considering\u2019 voluntarily releasing finance report"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_11804\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignleft\" style=\"max-width: 300px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/Weh-Allen.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Weh, Allen\" width=\"300\" height=\"262\" class=\"size-full\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Allen Weh<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Republican gubernatorial candidate <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allenweh2010.com\/\">Allen Weh<\/a> says he may join other candidates who have chosen to voluntarily release campaign finance reports this month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re considering it,\u201d Weh spokesman Christopher Sanchez wrote this morning in an e-mail.<\/p>\n<p>He had no further comment.<\/p>\n<p>Weh joins Republican gubernatorial candidate\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/turnerforgovernor.com\/\">Doug Turner<\/a> in not giving a definite answer (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/01\/turner-says-%E2%80%98maybe%E2%80%99-to-voluntarily-releasing-finance-report\/\">Turner said \u201cmaybe\u201d<\/a> earlier this week) to the question I\u2019ve been asking about whether gubernatorial candidates would voluntarily release a finance report this month for the fourth quarter of 2009. Weh is the last gubernatorial candidate to provide some kind of answer.<\/p>\n<p>Democratic candidate\u00a0<a title=\"Diane Denish\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dianedenish.com\/\">Diane Denish<\/a> has been\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2007\/11\/denish-leads-by-example-on-campaign-disclosure\/\">voluntarily releasing reports quarterly<\/a> \u2014 even in off-election years when it\u2019s not required \u2014 for some time, and she did it again\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/01\/denish-raised-750k-in-fourth-quarter\/\">last week<\/a>. Republican <a href=\"http:\/\/susanamartinez2010.com\/\">Susana Martinez<\/a> has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/01\/martinez-raised-143k-in-fourth-quarter\/\">matched Denish<\/a> in voluntarily releasing a report of contributions and expenditures for the fourth quarter of 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Republican <a href=\"http:\/\/janiceforgovernor.com\/\">Janice Arnold-Jones<\/a> has gone well beyond that in terms of disclosure of campaign contributions.\u00a0She recently posted on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/janiceforgovernor.com\/Supporters\/tabid\/117\/Default.aspx\">her campaign Web site<\/a> information about every contribution she\u2019s received to date, and she is keeping the list of contributions current.<\/p>\n<p>But unlike Denish and Martinez, Arnold-Jones has not been releasing information about campaign expenditures more often than state law requires.<\/p>\n<p>Republican <a href=\"http:\/\/domeniciforgovernor.com\/\">Pete Domenici Jr.<\/a>, who entered the race over the weekend, plans to voluntarily release information about contributions <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/01\/domenici-jr-to-release-contribution-info-at-least-monthly\/\">at least monthly<\/a>, his spokesman says.<\/p>\n<p>The next finance report is required by law on April 12.<\/p>\n<p>Denish spokesman Chris Cervini said it\u2019s \u201cnice to see others have finally begun to follow (Denish\u2019s) lead of openness and transparency.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Republican gubernatorial candidate Allen Weh says he may join other candidates who have chosen to voluntarily release campaign finance reports this month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[11,1],"tags":[108,111,107],"class_list":["post-11799","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news-and-analysis","category-uncategorized","tag-2010-election","tag-open-government","tag-roundhouse"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/11799","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=11799"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/11799\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=11799"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=11799"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=11799"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
