Bill Richardson is the first 2008 presidential candidate to hire staff in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:state st=\"on\">Nevada<\/st1:state><\/st1:place>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/news.rgj.com\/apps\/pbcs.dll\/article?AID=2007701240416\" target=\"_blank\">Reno Gazette-Journal<\/a> is reporting.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city> will travel to northern <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:state st=\"on\">Nevada<\/st1:state><\/st1:place> on Saturday as he begins a campaign to win the Jan. 19 caucus that is a key contest because it was moved up this year and will be held between the Iowa Caucus and New Hampshire Primary.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city>\u2019s visit to the northern part of the state \u201ccounters a common perception that candidates will focus on <st1:placename st=\"on\">Democrat-rich<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">Clark<\/st1:placename> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">County<\/st1:placetype>,\u201d where <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Las Vegas<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> is located, the newspaper reported. This might be evidence of what <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> has been saying he will do: take his campaign to the people, not the political leaders.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">He has hired <st1:city st=\"on\">Reno<\/st1:City> activist Theresa Navarro, rural coordinator Michael Tassone and <st1:city st=\"on\">Las  Vegas<\/st1:City> organizer Javier Trujillo to work on his campaign in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Nevada<\/st1:place><\/st1:State>, the newspaper reported. I was told several weeks ago that <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> planned to hire Navarro. I spoke with her at the time and she said that was not the case, but did tell me that if she was asked to work for the campaign, she would do so.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city> is scheduled to be welcomed by a group of supporters Saturday at the <st1:placename st=\"on\">Reno-Tahoe<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">International<\/st1:placename> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">Airport<\/st1:placetype> at 2:30 <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">p.m.<\/st1:placename> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">Mountain<\/st1:placetype><\/st1:place> Standard Time. He\u2019ll meet with Washoe County Democratic Party activists before speaking that evening at the Douglas County Democratic Party\u2019s annual fundraising dinner in <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Minden<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>, the newspaper reported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">He\u2019ll be joined there by former Gen.
