Asked to elaborate, he said he\u2019s done \u201ca lot of thinking, and just decided it\u2019s not best for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Perez, who said earlier in the month that he was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/01\/dona-ana-county-assessor-may-seek-prc-seat\/\">considering running<\/a> for PRC, wraps up his second term as assessor this year, so he\u2019s term-limited from seeking re-election. He has not announced his future plans.<\/p>\n<p>One Democrat has entered the PRC race \u2014 former Do\u00f1a Ana County Commissioner and congressional candidate\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/billmccamley.com\/\">Bill McCamley<\/a>. One other Democrat \u2013 former Do\u00f1a Ana County Commissioner Gilbert Apodaca \u2013 has said he is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2009\/12\/gilbert-apodaca-%e2%80%98likely%e2%80%99-to-run-for-prc\/\">considering running<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Two Republicans \u2013 Las Cruces native and businessman\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jamieestrada.com\/\">Jamie Estrada<\/a> and former Do\u00f1a Ana County Commissioner\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dkentevans.com\/\">Kent Evans<\/a> \u2013 have declared their candidacies.<\/p>\n<p><em>As I\u2019ve disclosed in the past, I\u2019m friends with McCamley.
