Hillary Clinton had 22 percent, Brack Obama had 17 percent and John Edwards had 12 percent, with several other candidates in single digits.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The poll included 600 telephone interviews with 520 Democrats and 80 independents between Jan. 11 and 13, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">On the <a href=\"http:\/\/americanresearchgroup.com\/pres08\/nmrep8-701.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">Republican side<\/a>, New Mexicans picked Rudy Giuliani with 38 percent of the vote. John McCain had 20 percent, and several other candidates were in single digits.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">That poll included 600 interviews with 563 Republicans and 37 independents on the same dates. It has the same margin of error.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The company conducted similar surveys in <st1:state st=\"on\">California<\/st1:state>, <st1:state st=\"on\">Florida<\/st1:state>, <st1:state st=\"on\">Illinois<\/st1:state>, <st1:state st=\"on\">Michigan<\/st1:state>, <st1:state st=\"on\">Missouri<\/st1:state>, <st1:state st=\"on\">North Carolina<\/st1:state> and <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Pennsylvania<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>. <st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city>\u2019s next best showing was 3 percent in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Illinois<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>.
