{"id":11203,"date":"2010-01-12T07:46:52","date_gmt":"2010-01-12T14:46:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/?p=11203"},"modified":"2010-01-12T21:14:03","modified_gmt":"2010-01-13T04:14:03","slug":"martinez-to-release-finance-report-this-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/01\/martinez-to-release-finance-report-this-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Martinez to release finance report this week"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_11202\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignright\" style=\"max-width: 300px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-11202\" title=\"Martinez, Susana\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/Martinez-Susana-300x263.jpg\" alt=\"Susana Martinez\" width=\"300\" height=\"263\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/Martinez-Susana-300x263.jpg 300w, https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/Martinez-Susana.jpg 325w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Susana Martinez<\/p><\/div>\n<h4>Gubernatorial candidate joins Diane Denish, Janice Arnold-Jones in going beyond what the law requires<\/h4>\n<p>Republican gubernatorial candidate <a href=\"http:\/\/susanamartinez2010.com\/\">Susana Martinez<\/a> says she\u2019ll voluntarily release a campaign finance report later this week, though the law doesn\u2019t require her to release another one until April 12.<\/p>\n<p>Martinez will release a year-end report of contributions and expenditures for 2009, campaign spokesman Adam Deguire said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSusana Martinez believes in transparency and open government,\u201d Deguire said. \u201cShe is concerned that the current campaign reporting schedule, with its long gaps between reports, does not provide the type of transparency the public deserves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Deguire said the report will be available on Martinez\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/susanamartinez2010.com\/\">campaign Web site<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Martinez joins two other gubernatorial candidates \u2013 Democrat <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dianedenish.com\/\">Diane Denish<\/a> and Republican <a href=\"http:\/\/janiceforgovernor.com\/\">Janice Arnold-Jones<\/a> \u2013 in going beyond what\u2019s required in terms of disclosure of campaign finances.<\/p>\n<p>Denish has been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dianedenish.com\/news\/campaign_finance_reports\">voluntarily releasing campaign finance reports<\/a> \u2013 lists of contributions and expenditures \u2013 quarterly, though in off-election years it\u2019s only required twice. She says she will voluntarily release another report in the next couple of weeks for the fourth quarter of 2009.<\/p>\n<p>And Arnold-Jones recently posted on <a href=\"http:\/\/janiceforgovernor.com\/Supporters\/tabid\/117\/Default.aspx\">her campaign Web site<\/a> information about\u00a0every campaign contribution\u00a0she\u2019s received to date. She plans to keep the list of contributions current, adding new contributions to the Web site each time one is received.<\/p>\n<p>Arnold-Jones has not put a list of campaign expenditures online.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Denish accused the GOP candidates of operating\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/01\/denish-says-gop-candidates-campaigning-%E2%80%98in-the-dark%E2%80%99\/\">\u201cin the dark\u201d<\/a> for not agreeing to match her in releasing finance reports quarterly. That came before Arnold-Jones unveiled her online list of contributions \u2013 a move Denish <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/01\/denish-arnold-jones-shows-commitment-to-transparency\/\">later praised<\/a> &#8212; and before Martinez made her announcement.<\/p>\n<p>The other gubernatorial candidates \u2013 Republicans <a href=\"http:\/\/turnerforgovernor.com\/\">Doug Turner<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allenweh2010.com\/\">Allen Weh<\/a> \u2013 have not answered my question about whether they will release a fundraising report this month.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update, 10:15 a.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Denish campaign released this statement:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s good to see some of the Republican candidates for governor are starting to follow Lt. Gov.
