{"id":1113,"date":"2007-01-17T10:17:00","date_gmt":"2007-01-17T16:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2007\/01\/las-cruces-council-extends-managers-contract\/"},"modified":"2007-01-17T10:17:00","modified_gmt":"2007-01-17T16:17:00","slug":"las-cruces-council-extends-managers-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2007\/01\/las-cruces-council-extends-managers-contract\/","title":{"rendered":"Las Cruces council extends manager&#8217;s contract"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/Ra5MV37tEOI\/AAAAAAAAAZQ\/uRNqKYU0tC8\/s1600-h\/Moore,+Terrence.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/Ra5MV37tEOI\/AAAAAAAAAZQ\/uRNqKYU0tC8\/s200\/Moore,+Terrence.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5021034573240013026\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>The Las Cruces City Council unanimously agreed Tuesday to grant a three-year contract extension and a five-percent raise to City Manager Terrence Moore.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The decision came at the end of a performance evaluation held because <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Moore<\/st1:city><\/st1:place> has completed his second year as city manager, according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lcsun-news.com\/ci_5024244\" target=\"_blank\">Las Cruces Sun-News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The council will formalize its decision at its Feb. 5 regular meeting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cI am extremely impressed with city council\u2019s unanimous support of Mr. Moore as city manager,\u201d Mayor Bill Mattiace was quoted by the newspaper as saying. \u201cBecause of <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Moore<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>\u2019s excellent performance during his first two years, city council extended his employment contract an additional three years. This will help guarantee that many of the major projects now underway will result in successful completion under <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Moore<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>\u2019s administration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Mattiace made reference to the <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">new city<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> hall building, the aquatic center, neighborhood pools and the federal court building.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In his state of the city address last week, Mattiace referenced those projects, in addition to downtown revitalization, as tasks that can be completed, with hard work, during the current council\u2019s tenure, and listed that as a goal.
