Ben Lujan of <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Santa   Fe<\/st1:city><\/st1:place> has just been chosen by House members to continue as their leader.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">On a vote of 43-27, House members voted to keep Lujan as speaker. The other votes went to House Minority Leader Tom Taylor of <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Farmington<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>, a Republican.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cI am deeply honored and humbled to continue to serve as your speaker of the House,\u201d Lujan said shortly after being sworn in.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The vote was expected. The formal vote comes a month after House Democrats, in a secret caucus, voted to keep Lujan as speaker despite a challenge from Majority Leader Ken Martinez of Grants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">It was <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Martinez<\/st1:city><\/st1:place> who nominated Lujan, saying doing so was \u201ca great honor.\u201d <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rep.
