{"id":11038,"date":"2010-01-08T15:13:43","date_gmt":"2010-01-08T22:13:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/?p=11038"},"modified":"2010-01-08T15:13:47","modified_gmt":"2010-01-08T22:13:47","slug":"denish-arnold-jones-shows-commitment-to-transparency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/01\/denish-arnold-jones-shows-commitment-to-transparency\/","title":{"rendered":"Denish: Arnold-Jones shows commitment to transparency"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_10258\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignright\" style=\"max-width: 120px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10258\" title=\"Denish, Diane\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/Denish-Diane.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"120\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Diane Denish<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Democratic gubernatorial candidate <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dianedenish.com\/\">Diane Denish<\/a> says one of the Republican candidates, <a href=\"http:\/\/janiceforgovernor.com\/\">Janice Arnold-Jones<\/a>, has \u201cshown a real commitment to increased transparency\u201d but voters may be wondering about the other three GOP hopefuls.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt least one of the four announced Republican candidates have shown a real commitment to increased transparency,\u201d Denish spokesman Chris Cervini said about Arnold-Jones. \u201cAt some point, the voters of New Mexico are going to start to wonder about whether the other candidates might have something to hide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Denish was responding to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/01\/arnold-jones-one-ups-denish-on-transparency\/\">the news<\/a> that Arnold Jones has posted on her Web site information about\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/janiceforgovernor.com\/Supporters\/tabid\/117\/Default.aspx\">every campaign contribution<\/a> she\u2019s received to date \u2013 168 contributions totaling a little more than $53,000 \u2013 and that she plans to keep the list of contributions current, adding new contributions to the Web site each time one is received.<\/p>\n<p>Denish has been touting her own campaign as the most transparent among the gubernatorial candidates because she\u2019s been voluntarily been releasing campaign finance reports \u2013 lists of contributions and expenditures \u2013 quarterly, though in off-election years it\u2019s only required twice. She plans to voluntarily release another report in the next couple of weeks for the fourth quarter of 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, Denish accused the GOP candidates of operating\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2010\/01\/denish-says-gop-candidates-campaigning-%E2%80%98in-the-dark%E2%80%99\/\">\u201cin the dark\u201d<\/a> for not agreeing to do the same.
