{"id":10541,"date":"2009-12-22T06:00:35","date_gmt":"2009-12-22T13:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/?p=10541"},"modified":"2009-12-22T08:07:14","modified_gmt":"2009-12-22T15:07:14","slug":"trial-of-vigil-giron-others-set-for-july","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2009\/12\/trial-of-vigil-giron-others-set-for-july\/","title":{"rendered":"Trial of Vigil-Giron, others set for July"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_5741\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignright\" style=\"max-width: 300px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5741\" title=\"Vigil-Giron\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/Vigil-Giron.jpg\" alt=\"Rebecca Vigil-Giron\" width=\"300\" height=\"266\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rebecca Vigil-Giron<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The trial of former Secretary of State <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rebecca_Vigil-Giron\">Rebecca Vigil-Giron<\/a> and three others accused of bilking taxpayers out of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2009\/09\/2009\/08\/prosecutors-allege-the-theft-of-millions-of-dollars\/\">millions of dollars<\/a> has been set for July.<\/p>\n<p>The trial is scheduled to begin July 19 at 9 a.m., according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmcourts.com\/\">New Mexico courts Web site<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Vigil-Giron, lobbyists\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sos.state.nm.us\/Lobby\/940531.HTM\">Joseph Kupfer<\/a> and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sos.state.nm.us\/Lobby\/070154.HTM\">Elizabeth Kupfer<\/a> and media consultant Armando Gutierrez, who headed the company Vigil-Giron hired to help the state implement a federal voter education program, each face 50 counts including money laundering, fraud, soliciting or receiving kickbacks and tax evasion.
