Bill Richardson today named Herb Crosby, president and CEO of Avtec, Inc. in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Albuquerque<\/st1:City><\/st1:place>, as the new secretary of the Department of Labor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Crosby<\/st1:place> replaces Conroy Chino, who quit several weeks ago to work in the private sector. <st1:city st=\"on\">Chino<\/st1:City> was the first of <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:City><\/st1:place>\u2019s secretaries to quit following the governor\u2019s re-election on Nov. 7.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cHerb Crosby knows what <st1:state st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:State> is facing, because he has been on the front lines of business recruitment and employee training efforts in <st1:city st=\"on\">Albuquerque<\/st1:City>,\u201d <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> said in a news release. \u201cHerb has also been extremely active in the local business community, helping him to understand the needs of small businesses as they recruit and, many times, struggle to find trained employees.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Crosby<\/st1:place> has served on the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
