Gandara defeated Eli Guzman <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2015\/11\/gandara-narrowly-defeats-guzman-in-las-cruces-district-1-race\/\" target=\"_blank\">by 18 votes<\/a> in the District 1 race.<\/p>\n<p>The recount didn&#8217;t change the results\u00a0at all, the city announced Wednesday afternoon in a news release.<\/p>\n<p>Eakman and Gandara\u00a0were sworn in Monday.
