As the only one who spoke with reporter Kate Nash, <st1:place st=\"on\">Cote<\/st1:place> is the focus of the article.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">He told the Tribune he was a bit anxious and wouldn\u2019t say who he\u2019s leaning toward supporting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cI don\u2019t necessarily feel pressure, but I feel that this is a big decision,\u201d the Tribune quoted him as saying. \u201cI feel the usual stress that goes along with making a key decision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The support of <st1:place st=\"on\">Cote<\/st1:place> and the other freshman lawmakers could determine their political futures \u2013 if their votes become known to the candidate elected speaker. That may never happen, as the vote is by secret ballot, but with only 41 or 42 votes cast, it won\u2019t be that hard to figure out how most representatives voted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Cote<\/st1:place> told me two weeks ago he was leaning toward supporting Ben Lujan for speaker and said he didn\u2019t know who he would support for majority leader.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"\"> <\/span>\u201cI\u2019m leaning my support toward the speaker right now, although I still have a couple of weeks to go,\u201d he told me. \u201cHe has experience. \u2026 I\u2019m leaning that way, but I definitely have to feel comfortable as far as ethics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Since then, <st1:place st=\"on\">Cote<\/st1:place> and the other freshman have been heavily lobbied by both sides, but have kept quiet about how they\u2019ll vote.
