Honoring a soldier who could have become president

By Carter Bundy Political signs aren’t common at funerals. I remember when Paul Wellstone’s supporters exhibited a bit of, to my taste, over-the-top theatrics at his memorial ceremony. But on Tuesday, I saw political signs for the first time in person at the funeral of Army Sergeant James C. Akin. And it felt just right. When I announced last week that Whitney Cheshire would join this site as a weekly columnist, I said the conservative Wednesday Morning Quarterback would be balanced by a progressive writer. Meet Carter Bundy, who will write a weekly column called Left @ Albuquerque. You might recall Bundy writing a guest column on immigration last week. Why earned citizenship – which isn’t amnesty – is fair
