Sonia Diaz, who was fired last month from her job as Las Cruces Public Schools superintendent, formally notified the district Monday that she is appealing.
“Her attorney notified us that she is appealing her discharge,” said district spokeswoman Jo Galvan.
The school district will now set a hearing in front of the school board that will be held 20-40 days from Monday.
