Madrid sets news conference for 10 a.m.

The results of the 1st Congressional District race have been certified, with Republican Rep. Heather Wilson beating Democrat Patricia Madrid by 875 votes.

Bernalillo County was the final county to certify its results Monday, according to the Albuquerque Journal.

Madrid has scheduled a news conference for 10 a.m. today in Albuquerque. The reason for the event was not disclosed. She has not conceded, and Bernalillo County Clerk Mary Herrera said she had received calls from Democratic officials to inquire about the costs of a recount.

She estimated that it would cost around $30,000 for that county alone.

The final vote count is 105,921 votes for Wilson to 105,046 votes for Madrid.
