The Las Cruces Sun-News profiled earlier today one of three city council races on the ballot in the Nov. 3 election.
Discussion in the District 3 race between incumbent Dolores Archuleta and challenger Olga Pedroza has centered primarily on the economy and neighborhood improvements, the newspaper reported.
From the newspaper:
“Archuleta, 76, said roads and road-related issues are at the top of her priority list. Her first priority is ‘the much-needed extension of Madrid, east under the Interstate (25) to Telshor,’ said Archuleta, whose district includes the neighborhoods near Conlee Elementary and Lynn Middle schools, and a portion of east Las Cruces between Spruce and Madrid avenues.
“… Pedroza, 67, said if she is elected her top three priorities will be to: ‘attract green business to the city, attract funding for training of workers for new green businesses, and to increase access to and use of alternative energy sources in the city.’”
