With 68 of 106 precincts reporting, Republican Scott Witt it up just over 1 percent on Democrat Jeff Steinborn in the House District 37 race.
Witt has 3,586 votes, or 50.8 percent, to Steinborn’s 3,479 votes, or 49.2 percent.
“It is a close race, obviously,” Steinborn said, adding that he believes some outstanding precincts “will be favorable to us.”
“You never know how these things come out until all the votes are counted,” Steinborn said.
Witt declined to comment.
