You may have noticed in the past couple of weeks that NMPolitics.net’s website was running more slowly than usual. It was having some serious technical issues. I had to devote time to diagnosing the problems and fixing them.
Which I think I did. I’m glad to say the site is running at normal speed now.
I operate NMPolitics.net as a one-man show. That means I do everything – reporting, photography, writing, editing, layout, social media, website maintenance, fundraising, bookkeeping and more. It’s a lot of work.
But I believe in the importance of independent journalism, and I’m proud that NMPolitics.net is funded almost entirely by donations from people like you. There’s not another news organization in New Mexico that’s less dependent on big advertisers or huge foundation grants.
I don’t charge a required subscription fee because I believe you should have access to news and information about your government regardless of your ability to pay. But that means I need your help.
Give whatever you can afford – it can be $5 or $500 – but please, give something to support our work.
Or better yet, sign up to make automatic, monthly donations in any amount. That more stable funding source lets me spend less time fundraising – and more time doing journalism.

Thank you for your support!
