Many municipalities will hold elections on March 1.
Tuesday is candidate filing day for many people across New Mexico who want to run for local offices in their cities and towns.
Many municipalities have elections on March 1. Voters in Hobbs, for example, will elect a mayor and three city commissioners. In Rio Rancho, voters will elect three city councilors and vote on a bond to fund roads and proposed charter amendments. Voters in Taos will elect two town councilmembers. In Farmington, they’ll elect two councilors.
Four municipalities in Doña Ana County will hold elections on March 1. In Sunland Park, voters will elect a mayor and four city councilors. Two trustees and a judge will be elected in Mesilla. Hatch voters will elect three trustees and a judge. And in Anthony, voters will elect a mayor and two trustees.
Santa Fe will also hold an election on March 1. Candidates for four council seats and a judgeship have already filed.
Las Cruces and Albuquerque held city elections last year.
