When Gov. Susana Martinez signed the capital outlay bill into law on Wednesday, she vetoed $1.1 million in appropriations.
That included funding for 42 projects. Among her vetoes:
- $10,000 to expand the senior center at Acoma Pueblo.
- $10,000 for a surveillance system for the Bernalillo County Metro Court.
- $50,000 for equipment for a medical robotics program at an Anthony high school.
- $40,000 to improve Seventh Street in Clovis.
- $18,000 for the Mortgage Finance Authority to offer down-payment assistance to low-income people purchasing homes.
We asked the Governor’s Office for the full list of vetoed appropriations and got it. You can see the list here. You can read Martinez’s letter explaining her action on the capital outlay bill here.
In all, the bill as signed provides $294 million for projects around the state.
