Voting appears to be running relatively smoothly throughout the state on this primary Election Day, but officials expect light turnout.
In Bernalillo and Doña Ana counties, voters can now vote at any polling place, and officials in both counties say things are running fine. According to the Las Cruces Sun-News, people like the new “voting convenience centers.”
“If you’re at work during the day, you don’t have to travel across the county to vote,” the newspaper quoted Ed Romero, a Mesilla Park resident who voted in Las Cruces, as saying.
Results could be a little delayed this evening in Bernalillo County, Clerk Maggie Toulouse Oliver said, because of a change in the configuration of machines to accommodate the new system that allows people to vote at any polling place. That’s according to KOB-TV in Albuquerque.
