Democratic 1st Congressional District candidate Michelle Lujan Grisham paid her county property taxes late seven of the last 10 years, the Albuquerque Journal is reporting.
The newspaper reported that the Bernalillo County commissioner has paid about $450 in late fines and interest fees since 2002, but all back taxes have been paid.
The campaign’s comment to the Journal, from spokesman Gilbert Gallegos:
“Michelle recognizes that as a public official, she should be held to the highest standards. She has taken responsibility for her taxes, paid the full amount and paid penalties ranging between $11 and $56 for late payments, just as any other taxpayer would be expected to do.”
