The executive director of the N.M. Foundation for Open Government is leaving that post to pursue graduate studies, and the group is seeking a new director.
Sarah Welsh announced her departure in an e-mail late Tuesday.
“It’s hard to let go of a job that is this much fun, but I will be leaving NMFOG on March 1, 2012 to pursue graduate studies outside New Mexico,” she wrote.
Welsh, a former assistant news editor for the Rio Grande SUN in Española, joined FOG in 2009.
The organization has posted an online announcement about the job opening here. Welsh spoke highly of the job.
“I’m biased, but in addition to working toward an important and worthy cause, this job offers an extraordinary opportunity to dream up a new idea and then go for it – whether it’s legislation, fundraising, outreach, or special projects,” she wrote in her e-mail.
