Gov. Susana Martinez is in Chihuahua today to attend events commemorating the start of the Mexican Revolution, including the honoring of her great-grandfather, who is credited with firing the revolt’s first shot.
That’s according to Rio Grande Digital, which was the first to report the story on Sunday.
The news website reported that Martinez is attending a special session of the state Legislature in Chihuahua today and will be present “for the unveiling of a bust and plaque in honor of her great-grandfather, the esteemed Toribio Ortega,” who was “one of the initiators of the Mexican Revolution and is credited with firing the first shot in the revolt.”
