U.S. Rep. Harry Teague, D-N.M., and Republican challenger Steve Pearce are currently tied at 4,752 votes each.
That’s according to the Secretary of State’s Web site.
Most of the votes that have been reported are early and absentee votes that were expected to go to Republicans. And Doña Ana County – the largest county in the district, the Democratic stronghold, and Teague’s expected base – has yet to report any results.
It’s too early to say for certain, but this could be a very good sign for Teague.
