Polls opened this morning with only a few minor problems in the state’s largest counties.
“We’re up and running, a few hiccups here and there, but everything is OK,” said Denise Lamb, Santa Fe County’s elections director.
Doña Ana County Clerk Lynn Ellins said polls opened with “very few problems” this morning. Ellins said his office had to send someone with a key to open one fire station serving as a polling place.
Bernalillo County Clerk Maggie Toulouse Oliver also reported few problems – there were some “typical issues,” such as machines going down and a presiding judge’s car breaking down, but all polling places are up and running.
Polls are open until 7 p.m.
