Another day, another poll: An internal poll conducted for Republican Susana Martinez’s campaign has her leading Democrat Diane Denish by 9 points in the governor’s race.
The poll has Martinez leading 51 percent to 42 percent. The poll memo, which was leaked to Politico, indicates that the survey of 900 likely voters, conducted Oct. 3-5, has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.27 percent.
The key findings listed in the memo:
- Martinez leads by even more – 53 percent to 41 percent – among those who expressed the greatest interest in the upcoming election. She led by that margin among those who said they had an interest level of 9 or 10 on a scale of 1-10.
- Denish leads Martinez among Hispanics by 6 points, 48 percent to 42 percent.
- Martinez has the support of 44 percent of those the poll memo calls “soft Democrats.”
