The money coming into New Mexico from out-of-state Democratic and Republican groups continues to grow.

This month, the Democratic National Committee pitched in with a $250,000 contribution to the Democratic Party of New Mexico. Politico first reported on the money coming to New Mexico. A DNC source confirmed to NMPolitics.net that it went to the state Democratic Party.

It’s part of a $50 million effort the DNC is spending on the midterm elections – more than it’s ever done before in a midterm election. The DNC is aiming to get those who voted for the first time in 2008 to vote again on Nov. 2.

As I’ve previously reported, the Democratic Governor’s Association reported raising $865,000 in the last reporting cycle and spending $400,000 to try to help elect Democratic gubernatorial candidate Diane Denish. And the Republican Governors Association has given $750,000 directly to the campaign of GOP gubernatorial candidate Susana Martinez.
