The City of Albuquerque has unveiled a Web site full of information about how taxpayer money is being spent.

ABQ View is “the City of Albuquerque’s project for open government and transparency,” the Web site states.

On the site you’ll find a breakdown of the budget by topic (public safety, infrastructure, etc.) in addition to searchable databases of city contracts, employee hourly rates and pay to date and travel expenditures. You can also find information about ongoing construction projects and auditor and inspector general reports.

Check it out by clicking here. Suggestions for improvement? Submit them in the comments section at the end of this posting.
