Republican gubernatorial candidate Susana Martinez has announced the hiring of a new campaign manager and two other staffers as she transitions from the primary to the general election.
Adam Deguire, who had been serving as campaign manager, is moving over to the position of political director to make way for Ryan Cangiolosi, Martinez’s new campaign manager. Cangiolosi previously served as executive director of the state GOP, which has not yet announced his replacement.
Martinez also hired Matt Kennicott, former state GOP executive director and chief of staff for the New Mexico House Republican Caucus, to be her director of campaign operations. He will be overseeing day-to-day campaign activities and policy initiatives.
Raj Shah will be Martinez’s communications director. Shah comes from Connecticut after working for Rob Simmons’ U.S. Senate campaign there.
A prior version of this posting incorrectly said Cangiolosi and Kennicott had served as chairman of the state GOP.
